Marketing Coordinator

The MSD of Mount Vernon is seeking an energetic, outgoing, and highly organized individual to serve as our Marketing Coordinator. This position will help tell the story of our schools while creating engaging events and experiences that bring together our students, staff, families, alumni, and community.

The ideal candidate is a strong communicator who loves planning, organizing, connecting with people, and building excitement around our schools and Wildcat community. This position requires a flexible, non-traditional schedule, including occasional evenings and weekends to support school and community events.

Primary Responsibilities

• Coordinate and promote district and community events, including celebrations, athletic activities, family events, and special programs.
• Help create an exciting and welcoming atmosphere at district events and rally students, staff, families, and fans.
• Manage district communications through social media, website content, newsletters, press releases, and other communication channels.
• Attend school activities and events to capture photos, stories, accomplishments, and highlights.
• Develop creative ways to showcase students, staff, programs, athletics, and district achievements.
• Coordinate event logistics, promotion, volunteers, vendors, and community partners as needed.
• Build positive relationships with families, local businesses, community organizations, media, and other district partners.
• Maintain a district-wide calendar of major events and assist schools with event promotion.
• Support district branding and ensure communications are professional, positive, timely, and consistent.
• Perform other communication and event-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Experience in communications, marketing, public relations, event planning, hospitality, athletics, community engagement, or a related field is preferred. Relevant education, professional experience, and demonstrated skills will be considered.
