Shipping Specialist

IT Shipping SpecialistPeraton is seeking a detail-oriented and reliable IT Shipping Specialist to support logistics and asset management activities for TSA devices. This role is ideal for an early-career professional looking to build hands-on experience in IT operations, inventory management, and equipment deployment within a mission-driven environment. You will play a critical role in ensuring IT equipment is properly prepared, tested, tracked, and delivered to support operational readiness.Location: Springfield, VA (On-site) Hours: Will be required to work M-F 7:30am to 3:30pm on site at the warehouse.Key ResponsibilitiesProcess and fulfill requests for IT equipment including laptops, desktops, VOIP devices, peripherals, UPS, switches, and serversReview and validate equipment requests to ensure accuracy and complete shipping detailsSupport requests from internal systems and portals (e.g., Field Equipment Portal and iShare)Identify, pull, and inspect equipment to meet fulfillment requirementsPerform equipment testing and evaluation using standard checklists to ensure operational readinessImage PCs, servers, and other applicable devices as requiredAccurately capture and maintain asset tracking informationPrepare, package, label, and ship equipment in accordance with established proceduresMaintain organized inventory and support onsite warehouse operationsQualifications Basic Qualifications:Bachelors degree and 0 years of experience or an Associates degree and 2 years of experience or a High School diploma/equivalent and 4 years of experience.US Citizenship required with the ability to obtain an entry on duty security clearanceExperience in IT support, logistics, shipping/receiving, or warehouse operationsBasic understanding of computer hardware (laptops, desktops, servers, peripherals)Ability to follow detailed processes and maintain accurate recordsStrong attention to detail and organizational skillsMust be able to work onsite in Springfield, VA during designated hoursPreferred Qualifications:Experience with asset management or inventory tracking systemsFamiliarity with imaging tools or basic IT configuration processesExperience supporting government or regulated environments (e.g., TSA, DHS)Strong communication and teamwork skillsPhysical Requirements:Ability to spend 4+ hours per day on your feet, often walking long distances throughout airport and office environments to support customer equipment.Ability to lift 40-50 pounds when installing IT equipment.Ability to push/pull carts to transport equipment.Ability to kneel, bend, and reach under desks to connect or repair cabling, and connect patch cables from patch panels to network switches.Physical activity may include climbing ladders, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, and using hand tools.Required to have close visual acuity to perform activities such as viewing a computer terminal.Subject to hazards such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, and electrical current.Details Target Salary Range: $51,000 - $82,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual's experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
