Unit Secretary/Monitor Tech - Emergency Room - Per Diem 12 Hour Day Shift (Union)

The Unit Secretary/Monitor Technician performs clerical, and communication functions on assigned nursing unit. S/he monitors patients for arrhythmias and alerts proper personnel as needed. She/he provides courteous reception on the nursing unit and coordinates activities for patient care.Minimum Education: High School Diploma or GED or equivalent experienceCompletion of a EKG or Rhythm interpretation courseMinimum Experience/Knowledge: Minimum of one (1) year current experience as a Unit Secretary and Monitor Tech in an acute care preferredAbility to communicate effectively in English both verbally and in writing.Knowledge of medical terminology.Data entry computer skillsRequired License/Certification: Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) card from the American Heart Association.ED/Geropsych: AB 508 Certification (if no card upon hire, one must be obtained within 30 days of hireEKG course required.
