Technical Program Manager, Google Chat, Workspace

Own and guide high-impact infrastructure projects from requirements through launch, including defining requirements, identifying dependencies, managing project schedules, and performing risk management.Identify trends and themes among project and team issues, and drive root-cause analysis with the engineering, product, and UX teams.Address the challenges of scope creep, shifting priorities, and delayed timelines while maintaining a clear focus on delivering results. Work with engineers and leadership to distill complex technical concepts into actionable steps.Help bridge the gap between technical teams and executive leadership by showcasing the impact of infrastructure work. Lead efforts to quantify and communicate the value of ongoing projects, helping secure buy-in, alignment on direction and visibility.Communicate with and build relationships across the core team and partner teams.Minimum qualifications:Bachelor's degree in a technical field, or equivalent practical experience. 5 years of experience in program management.Experience with ML lifecycles, Large Language Models (LLMs), and AI infrastructure.Experience with internal tooling, prototyping, or technical architecture.Preferred qualifications:5 years of experience managing cross-functional or cross-team projects.Experience building or scaling Chat, Messaging, or social communication platforms.Solid software development project management experience, ability to define projects and execute within timelines and with multiple stakeholders, and proven ability to deliver projects on time and on budget.Strong problem-solving and quantitative skills.A problem isn’t truly solved until it’s solved for all. As a Technical Program Manager at Google, you’ll use your technical expertise to lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish. You're equally comfortable explaining your team's analyses and recommendations to executives as you are discussing the technical tradeoffs in product development with engineers. As a Google Chat Technical Program Manager driving Chat Agent Quality, you will join the organization to help build out the Chat infrastructure that will improve Chat Agentic Quality, from helping transform our evaluation infrastructure, dive into user feedback processing at scale, or driving reliability and scalability efforts Chat grows, or supporting latency efforts. You are responsible for a large portfolio of infrastructure, and direction of the client and backend services that keeps Google Chat running reliably, performant, scalable and enables our developers to develop with high velocity and good experience. You will collaborate with talented engineering leads to understand and identify gaps and opportunities across our infrastructure and drive projects throughout the project lifecycle. Manage project schedules, identifying risks and clearly communicating goals to project stakeholders and improving processes. You will partner with other mission teams in Chat, and drive cross-mission and cross-product collaborations.In Google Chat, all technical program managers will work on transforming Chat with Agentic Features.
