Registered Nurse - Operating Room

Job Description

Job Summary:

Provides specialized perioperative nursing care in the operating room environment, ensuring patient safety and optimal surgical outcomes. Supervises and collaborates with a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality patient care during surgical procedures.

Responsibilities:

• Assess patients preoperatively to determine their needs and establish a plan of care.
• Prepare the operating room and ensure all surgical instruments and supplies are ready.
• Administer appropriate medications and monitor patient vital signs throughout procedures.
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals to facilitate smooth operations.
• Document intraoperative care, interventions, and patient responses accurately.
• Educate patients and their families about perioperative procedures and care instructions.

Qualifications:

• Current RN license in the state of practice.
• Minimum of two years recent experience in perioperative or operating room nursing.
• BLS certification from an approved vendor; ACLS and PALS certifications preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to assess, plan, and implement perioperative nursing care.
• Strong critical thinking, communication, and teamwork skills.
