These roles sit at the intersection of customer experience, risk management, operations, and compliance—owning high-impact problem spaces where the tradeoffs are real and the stakes are high.You'll partner closely with Engineering, Data Science, Design, Operations, Risk, and Compliance to define strategy, ship impactful products, and continuously iterate based on data and insights.These are high-impact opportunities to shape how Chime balances growth, safety, and member experience at scale.The base salary for this role depends on the position location:San Francisco, CA: The base salary range is $183,000 to $205,000.Chicago, IL: The base salary range is $165,000 to $185,000.Full-time employees are also eligible for a bonus, a competitive equity package, and comprehensive benefits. The actual base salary offered will depend on factors such as location, skills, qualifications, and experience. Both roles are available in either San Francisco, CA or Chicago, IL, and candidates may be based in either location.Open RolesTrust & Safety at Chime spans multiple product domains. Individual roles focus on one of these areas, contributing to a shared mission of protecting members and enabling safe, scalable growth:Transaction Risk Decisioning: Build the systems that evaluate transaction risk in real time across card payments, peer-to-peer payments, and bank transfers—raising authorization rates, containing emerging fraud patterns, and turning declines into recoverable experiences. Requires deep expertise in payments risk, including card network rules, authorization and decline codes, and dispute frameworks.Member Identity & Lifecycle: This team owns the core identity and account lifecycle capabilities that determine how Chime responds when a member is suspended, closed, re-enabled, or otherwise restricted. The team also serves as a critical partner to product teams introducing new account types or lifecycle behaviors, helping them integrate safely with shared Chime patterns instead of creating one-off flows.
