The successful candidate will participate in a holiday rotation and be required to work every third weekend. Unit Information Bed Size: Maternity - 16, Nursery - 12, NICU - 4, C-section suite - 1, Overflow rooms Ratios: Labor - 1:1, Postpartum - 1:2, NICU - 2:1 Patient Types: Antepartum, Mother-Baby, Newborn, OB/GYN, NICU Drugs and Titrations: Glucose, Magnesium, Pitocin, Insulin Delivery Volume: Approximately 50-60 births per month Level 2 Maternal/Neonatal Center Job Responsibilities Provide comprehensive nursing care in the Labor & Delivery unit. Administer medications and monitor patient responses. Assist in the delivery process while ensuring the safety and comfort of both mother and child. Collaborate with healthcare teams to develop and implement individualized patient care plans. Utilize electronic medical record (EMR) systems, specifically EPIC, for patient documentation. Qualifications Minimum of 24 months of Labor & Delivery experience. Experience in nursery and Mother-Baby care is preferred. Postpartum and NICU experience is advantageous. Travel nursing experience within the last 15 months is required. Proficient in EPIC EMR. Must hold a current NRP certificate. Intermediate or Advanced EFM (Electronic Fetal Monitoring) certification is required. STABLE certification is required. Experience with medication administration for glucose, magnesium, Pitocin, and insulin. Active Iowa or compact nursing license is required. Current ACLS and BLS certifications from AHA are mandatory. Additional Information The nurse will work a 3x12 hour night shift schedule totaling 36 hours per week. There are no call requirements, and candidates must adhere to the local radius rule, with all applicants required to be located at least 50 miles from the facility. Additionally, the contractor is expected to work 1-2 of the following upcoming holidays: Memorial Day, Independence Day, and Labor Day, unless the unit is closed.
