Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) | Behavioral Health Float Pool

Location: Avera Behavioral Health Center – Sioux Falls Worker Type: Regular Work Shift: Rotating days/evenings/nights/weekends/holidays (United States) Pay Range: $24.50 - $33.75 (dependent on experience) Position Highlights This position floats to all Behavioral Health Inpatient units, The Link, BHS Urgent Care, and Behavioral Health Adolescent Addiction Unit. Opportunity to experience a variety of inpatient settings and work with staff from many areas. Everyone gets a 100% self‑schedule and an average LPN to 7‑8 patient ratio. The LPN is eligible for Avera’s Student Loan Repayment Program (extra $167 monthly up to $10,000). Varied shifts: 72 hours per 2 weeks, every 3rd weekend every 3 weeks, and every 3rd holiday rotation. Brief Overview The LPN practices under the supervision of a registered nurse, advanced practice registered nurse, licensed physician, or other health care provider. The LPN organizes and directs those aspects of care for which he/she is accountable, communicating and coordinating care with well‑defined nursing diagnoses and all health team members. What you will do Collect data and conduct a focused nursing assessment of the patient's health status. Participate with other health care providers in the development and modification of the patient‑centered care plan. Implement nursing interventions within a patient‑centered care plan. Assist in the evaluation of responses to interventions. Provide for the maintenance of safe and effective nursing care rendered directly or indirectly. Advocate for the best interest of the patient. Communicate and collaborate with patients and members of the health care team. Assist with health counseling and teaching. Delegate and assign nursing interventions to implement the plan of care. Required Education, License/Certification, or Work Experience Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) – Board of Nursing. An active license in the state of practice upon hire.
