Responsibilities Develop plans based on customer specifications Provide rate quotes to clients Review processes and implement new procedures Assist teams in resolving Customs and carrier issues Prepare and monitor various Customs compliance and broker management reports Train, coach, and supervise team members Manage post‑entry reviews and perform audits Utilize understanding of proper processes to resolve problems according to industry standards Monitor AP/AR discrepancies and address accounting issues Address disciplinary and performance issues and complaints as needed Know Foreign Trade Zone Regulations (FTZ) (19 CFR 146) and Customs Brokerage Requirements Process daily FTZ transactions for transmittal to Customs including CBP Form 214 Admissions, CBP Form 7512 in‑bonds, CBP Form 216 annual and individual permits, CBP Form 349 Harbor Maintenance Fee Perform zone‑to‑zone transfer Reconcile daily inventory balances using QAD POC – CBP onsite audits, internal compliance, action plan Communicate with specified government agencies, customers, carriers, and operations on all issues affecting customs brokerage and FTZ Ensure compliance with U.S. Government regulatory agencies such as FDA, EPA, FCC, Fish & Wildlife, etc. Requirements Minimum 5 years relevant experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience Minimum 2 years experience in a supervisory capacity Customs Broker License preferred PC literate and proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint Ability to read, analyze, and interpret business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals Ability to present information effectively and respond to questions from managers, clients, customers, and the general public Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations with limited standardization Ability to interpret instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form Environment While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee frequently is required to stand, reach with hands and arms, and is required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
