Banner University Medical Center Phoenix is a level 1 Trauma, Magnet, Teaching hospital. The main operating rooms have 24 suites that include 2 Hybrid, 2 DaVinci rooms and MIS rooms. Specialties make working Banner University Medical Center an exciting and diverse place to challenge yourself. The specialties include: General, Trauma, ENT, OMFS, Plastics, Ortho, Neuro, Robotics, Gyn, Urology, Ophthalmology, vascular, transplants, TAVR's, hearts, Bariatric and NICU babies. As a large and busy hospital we preform over 300 cases weekly.

As a Clinical Support Assistant in the Periop Unit, you will bring your excellent time management skills and administrative experience to our department!

This position is essential to maintaining efficient operating room operations and effective workforce management. The role is responsible for coordinating staffing and scheduling activities across the OR, including schedule development and balancing, call schedule management, timekeeping support, and workforce gap analysis. By ensuring appropriate staffing coverage, payroll accuracy, and proactive workforce planning, this position plays a critical role in supporting seamless surgical services and optimal patient care delivery.

Candidates must possess strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills, along with demonstrated experience using Microsoft Office applications, particularly Microsoft Excel.

POSITION SUMMARY

This position provides clerical and administrative services and assistance requiring occasional discretion and judgement. This position will support the service line or department Director with timecard editing, field file management and occupational health tracking. This position will track equipment as appropriate. This position will assist with compiling audits and compliance reports as well as submitting security requests for system access for team members. This position will create onboarding schedules and new hire activities.

CORE FUNCTIONS

1. Provides advanced administrative support for an executive or large/complex department or provides advanced/specialized business support.

2. Provides customer service skills.

3. Uses established policies and general instructions and procedures to resolve a variety of problems.

4. Prepares, collates, and distributes various reports in a timely and accurate manner.

5. May provide clerical and administrative support to department staff, maintaining a high degree of confidentiality on all sensitive information this position is privy to.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

High school diploma/GED or equivalent working knowledge.

Significant experience, typically gained through 3 years relevant work experience. Working knowledge of clerical and administrative services as normally demonstrated through three years administrative support experience. Must have the ability to follow oral and written directions as they relate to the functions listed above. Must have excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills to effectively interact with department personnel, assist customers with inquiries, schedule meetings and appointments, as well as, provide assistance with incoming telephone calls and walk-ins. Must have a working knowledge of personal software package to perform the clerical and administrative functions described above. Must have the ability to organize, prioritize and multi-task workload in a fast paced environment and maintain a professional manner.

Additional related education and/or experience preferred.
