Communications Manager

In this role, you will lead a communications team, overseeing communications planning, managing concurrent projects from intake through completion, and directing creative production across graphic design, video, and photography. Working collaboratively, you will advance digital accessibility, manage multilingual communications, and lead fee-for-service communications projects with school districts across the region. This job reports to Assigned Administrator.

Essential functions include conducting accessibility audits of agency digital assets, designing and producing materials across visual and multimedia formats, developing communications plans, managing communications project intake and coordination, maintaining documents and records, managing fee-for-service communications projects, managing multilingual communications projects, monitoring assigned activities and program components, overseeing event planning and production, overseeing the agency's social media presence and content calendar, partnering with staff to coordinate resource and budget development and oversight processes, supervising personnel, and writing and editing communications content across multiple formats and channels.

Other functions include assisting other personnel as may be required.

Required skills and experience include accuracy and attention to detail, customer focus, developing and empowering others, managing and measuring work, and project management. Required education and experience include a bachelor's degree in communications, public relations, marketing, journalism, graphic design, digital media, or a closely related field, or an associate degree combined with equivalent directly related professional experience, progressively responsible professional experience developing and implementing strategic communications, marketing, public information, or related communications initiatives, demonstrated experience planning, organizing, and managing multiple communications projects with competing priorities while meeting established timelines and organizational objectives, experience creating and editing communications across multiple formats including websites, publications, social media, presentations, newsletters, video, graphic design, or other digital and print media, demonstrated knowledge of digital accessibility principles and experience developing or reviewing communications that support accessibility and equitable access for diverse audiences, and certified professional in accessibility core competencies (CPACC) certification, an equivalent accessibility credential, or the ability to successfully obtain the certification within the first twelve months of employment.
