Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) BioLife Plasma Services is a subsidiary of Takeda Pharmaceutical Company Ltd. Job Description In this role, you support plasma collection operations under the guidance of the Center Manager and medical issues with the Center Physician. You will determine donor eligibility, manage donor adverse events, review laboratory test results, and notify donors of unsuitable test results. You will perform donor screenings, physical examinations, blood testing, and evaluate donor reactions per SOPs. You may also serve as a Pandemic Coordinator, support vaccination programs, and manage employee incidents. Responsibilities Determine donor eligibility, including informed consent, AIDS education, self‑exclusion, medical history interview, physical examination, blood testing, and review of Serological Protein Electrophoresis (SPE). Evaluate donor reactions, following SOPs for medical emergencies and assist with donor transport to emergency care facilities. Refer findings to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs for guidance on medical or technical issues. Support Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees. Manage employee incidents and determine if further evaluation is required by occupational health/ER. Act as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS and support investigations related to pandemic threats. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent, including graduate‑level nursing program with state requirements. Current license or certification in the state where responsibilities will be assigned: EMT‑Paramedic. Current CPR and AED certification. State requirement for basic IV therapy. Completion of FDA‑approved training requirements for BioLife Medical Support Specialist. Two years in a clinical or hospital setting. Compensation and Benefits USA - WI - Janesville Hourly wage range: $24.32 – $33.44 per hour, contingent on qualifications, experience, and other factors. Actual wage will meet state or local minimum wage requirements.
