Speech-Language Pathologist

This full-time Speech-Language Pathologist will deliver patient-centered speech-language pathology services in homes across Coeur d'Alene, Idaho. The role focuses on evaluating and treating speech, language, cognitive, and swallowing disorders, developing individualized treatment plans, and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to improve patients' communication, cognition, and swallowing function.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide speech-language pathology services in patients' homes
• Evaluate patients with speech, language, communication, cognitive, and swallowing disorders
• Develop individualized treatment plans based on patient needs, diagnoses, and functional goals
• Deliver therapeutic interventions to improve communication, cognition, and swallowing
• Assess and treat patients with neurological, medical, and age-related conditions
• Educate patients, families, and caregivers on treatment plans, compensatory strategies, safety, and independence
• Recommend appropriate communication strategies and adaptive equipment when clinically indicated
• Monitor progress and modify treatment plans as needed
• Complete accurate and timely clinical documentation per home health standards
• Collaborate and coordinate care with physicians, nurses, OT, PT, social workers, and interdisciplinary team
• Follow all applicable state, federal, and organizational home health requirements
• Maintain a professional, compassionate approach while working independently in patients' homes

Qualifications:

• Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program
• Current Idaho Speech-Language Pathology license or eligibility for Idaho licensure
• Certificate of Clinical Competence from ASHA
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
• Ability to travel to patient homes throughout the assigned service area
• Strong clinical assessment, documentation, communication, and organizational skills

Preferred Skills:

• Experience providing speech therapy in a home health setting
• Experience treating adult and/or geriatric patients
• Knowledge of dysphagia and swallowing disorders
• Experience with cognitive-communication disorders
• Experience with neurological conditions and rehabilitation
• Strong patient and caregiver education skills
• Ability to work independently while communicating with interdisciplinary team
• Excellent time management and scheduling skills
• Commitment to patient-centered care and functional outcomes
• Current CPR certification
