The Line Cook plays a crucial role in the kitchen by preparing and cooking food items according to menu specifications and quality standards. This position ensures the kitchen operates efficiently while maintaining high standards of cleanliness, food safety, and waste management.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook food items according to menu and recipe specifications
- Maintain kitchen sanitation and cleanliness to comply with health regulations
- Manage inventory and assist in stock rotation
- Perform quality control checks on ingredients and finished dishes
- Adhere to safety and food handling guidelines to ensure a safe working environment
- Contribute to waste reduction efforts by following portion control and proper storage practices
Preferred Qualifications
- Entry-level experience in food preparation
- High school diploma or equivalent
- ServSafe certified
- Knowledge of food safety and proper food handling practices
