Systems AdministratorTransCore (TRN), a subsidiary of ST Engineering, is seeking a full-time Systems Administrator to join our team in Harrisburg PA, Houston TX, or Miramar FL.Job Summary: We are looking for a Systems Administrator to maintain, upgrade and manage our software, hardware, and networks. Resourcefulness is a necessary skill in this role. The candidate should be able to diagnose and resolve problems quickly and have the patience to communicate with a variety of interdisciplinary teams and users. The goal will be to ensure that our technology infrastructure runs smoothly and efficiently with the least amount of downtime.Primary focus will be on:Installing and configuring software, hardware, and networksMonitoring system performance and troubleshooting issuesEnsuring security and efficiency of IT infrastructureCollaborating with team members about ongoing and future projectsUsing AI to automate daily tasks and requestsEssential duties will include the following, but not limited to:Manage network servers and technology toolsThis is expected to be a hybrid position. Ability to work in the office 3 days per weekMaintain Microsoft AD and Group PoliciesSetting up accounts and workstationsMonitor performance and maintain systems according to requirementsTroubleshoot issues and outagesEnsure security through access controls, backups, and firewallsUpgrade systems with new releases and modelsDevelop expertise to train staff in new technologiesDevelop, maintain, and update internal technical documentation, manuals, and IT policiesProvide Level 2 desktop supportAssist third-party help desk with troubleshooting issuesCreate step-by-step KB articles for the helpdeskMake sure servers and workstations have our security and management tools installedWork with vendors to upgrade or migrate applicationsReview automated reports and the ability to act on them when neededRequirements and skills:Proven experience as a Systems Administrator, Network Administrator, or similar roleExperience with databases, basic network troubleshooting (LAN,WAN,vWAN) and patch managementKnowledge of system security (e.g., intrusion detection/prevention systems) and data backup/recoveryFamiliarity with Hyper-V, Azure, and PowerShell scriptingFamiliarity with various operating systems and platformsResourcefulness and problem-solving aptitudeExcellent communication skillsAbility to follow the industry standardExperience in Microsoft Office 365 office suite and toolsProficient in troubleshooting Window 11 OSSelf-motivation, innovative thinking and the ability to work with a teamIn depth knowledge of M365 administration including Entra ID and SharePoint AdminExperience with Intune management and Conditional Access Policies (CAPs)Familiarity with Privileged Access Management (PAM)Education:BS/BA in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related discipline and 3-6 years of IT experience.
