Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
Step into a rewarding contract opportunity for the 2026–2027 school year as an onsite Special Education Teacher, supporting students in Autistic Support classrooms. This role is situated in a collaborative and resource-rich school environment near Dover, PA, where you will have the support of a dedicated PCA (Personal Care Assistant) team to enhance the learning experience. The contract runs from August 18, 2026, through May 27, 2027, with hours from 7:45 AM to 3:15 PM.
In this role, you will work directly with students to foster academic and social growth within a framework tailored to their unique abilities.
Qualifications:
- Current Pennsylvania teaching certificate (required)
- Background in Special Education, ideally with relevant classroom or clinical experience
- Strong understanding of Autism Spectrum supports and instructional best practices
- Ability to collaborate with support staff, families, and colleagues to create individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Commitment to nurturing a positive, inclusive, and productive classroom dynamic
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement differentiated lessons based on students' IEPs
- Adapt instructional materials to address diverse learning needs
- Maintain accurate records of progress and assessments
- Work in partnership with PCAs, related service providers, and families
- Foster a supportive environment that encourages student independence and growth
- Participate in ongoing professional development throughout the contract
