Student loan repayment options Pet Insurance Qualifications: High School Diploma or equivalent Certified Medical Assistant To be considered for this position, you must either : Hold a current Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) certification through the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA), or Be a graduate of a CAAHEP- or ABHES-accredited Medical Assistant program that qualifies you to perform injections. Graduates of CAAHEP- or ABHES-accredited medical assisting programs are eligible for the CMA (AAMA) certification pathway. 1 year experience as a Medical Assistant Job Responsibilities: Greets patients in a warm and welcoming environment and answers telephones. Updates and files patient medical records. Collects patient medical histories and records vital signs. Prepares patients for examination and explains treatment procedures to patients as needed. Gathers and prepares laboratory specimens, and may perform basic laboratory tests on the premises. Disposes contaminated supplies. Instructs patients about medication and special diets, and orders/obtains injectable medications from the onsite pharmacy as directed by a physician.
