Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) Qualifications

• Current Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) license in Colorado or eligibility for Colorado licensure
• Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program
• Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) or Long-Term Care (LTC) experience preferred, but new graduates are encouraged to apply
• Strong communication, organizational, and documentation skills
• Passion for helping residents maximize independence and quality of life
• Ability to work collaboratively with an interdisciplinary healthcare team

Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) Responsibilities

• Provide occupational therapy treatments under the direction and supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist
• Implement individualized treatment plans designed to help residents achieve their highest level of function and independence
• Accurately document treatments, resident progress, and outcomes in accordance with regulatory requirements
• Collaborate with Occupational Therapists, physicians, nursing staff, and the interdisciplinary care team to deliver exceptional resident-centered care
• Educate residents and caregivers on therapeutic exercises, adaptive equipment, and techniques to promote independence
• Follow all state and federal regulations governing therapy services
• Adhere to facility policies, procedures, and clinical standards
• Promote resident safety, dignity, independence, and overall well-being through compassionate, evidence-based care
