We welcome you to join West Virginia University Department of Family Medicine as the team expands outpatient primary care services across North-Central West Virginia. 

 

This Faculty position offers the stability of an established academic department with the freedom to shape clinical interests, contribute to a growing medical student program, and practice in settings designed around patient access and provider well-being. 

 

With a flexible 40 hour workweek, optional teaching, and a practice culture grounded in support and innovation, this is an opportunity to help advance community-focused care while building a rewarding long-term career.

 

Opportunity Highlights:

• Outpatient-only schedule with no inpatient or obstetrics responsibilities
• Flexible 40 hour workweek with options to suit work-life balance
• Productivity upside supported by strong volumes across Monongalia County, Marion County, and Preston County sites
• Optional teaching: work with medical students and residents only if desired
• Department supported by faculty development and robust research infrastructure
• Ability to tailor patient panels, explore special interests, and use administrative time as needed
• Multi-site practice options, including Fairmont, Reedsville (rural), and Morgantown (Student Health tie-in)
