The successful candidate will oversee a well established multidisciplinary group of engineers, designers and technicians. This individual reports to the Engineering Director and will be responsible for the relationship with TVA. The position requires a strong technical background in substation engineering along with a proven managerial track record.Candidate will be responsible for P&L of client project work, communication, process creation, team management, and is ultimately responsible for ensuring the successful execution of all project work.The role will be a hybrid allowable role based out of the Chattanooga, TN or Knoxville, TN office.Requirements:PMP certification is required; a PE license is preferred.4-year ABET-accredited engineering degree preferred.Ability to identify, analyze, and solve difficult technical and management problems related to complex engineering projects.Possess aptitude for engineering and design, as well as proposal preparation, estimating, accounting, and scheduling.Strong organizational and process workflow management skills. Adept at modifying and adapting processes and workflows to accomplish team goals efficiently.Strong verbal and written communication skills.Excellent interpersonal skills to build relationships and work effectively in a team environment – both internally and externally.Strong working knowledge of computers and software such as AutoCAD, Vault, and Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel. Must also possess knowledge of corporate accounting practices and business operations.Willingness to develop, promote and comply with Mesa safety requirements.Reactive to Director/VP work instructions and proactive/reactive to client requests.12+ years of experience working in the power industry is required.8+ years of experience managing projects and/or customer accounts is preferred.6+ years of TVA substation design experience is preferred.Responsibilities:Provides customer leadership to groups of Project Managers.Accountable for maintaining solid customer financial targets, rapport, relationships and is ultimately responsible for ensuring the successful execution of all project work.Integral participant in contract negotiations.Provides guidance, direction, and coaching to Project Managers.Notice to External Search Firms: Mesa Associates, Inc. and its subsidiaries do not accept unsolicited resumes and will not be obligated to pay a placement fee for unsolicited resumes.
