In conjunction with other members of Fleet Management, responsible for proper management of all aspects of fleet operations; the day-to-day management of all fleet personnel, insuring they all adhere to vehicular laws, Company policies, rules & regulations and enforcement of same – including disciplinary actions when warranted. Principal duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Manage all aspects of daily fleet operations including:
- Supervise the fleet employees in all aspects – including making ‘on the ground’ assessments of performance and making strategic/operational changes as situations change and rental car clients need so warrant
- Early morning coordination with Counter Managers for Daily Game Plan of vehicle demand
- Supervise and direct all vehicle movement between locations to maximize efficiency and minimize wait times
- Ensure counters are receiving keys to status on a timely and consistent basis
- Supervise and assign responsibilities for proper lot management at each location
- Ensure proper staffing for each car rental client – adjusting manpower due to demand, vacations, sick calls, etc.
- Make sure all Vehicles are properly cleaned and prepped including tires and batteries in an efficient manner
- Ensure all opening & closing duties are being done in accordance with car rental client standards
- All supplies and equipment required for above functions are properly stocked and reordered as needed and all equipment is in good working order
- Employee Management responsibilities including:
- Training of all new employees in all aspects of their job and compliance with all company policies and procedures
- Assist in on-going training and development of Service Agents, Leads, Return Agents & Shuttle Drivers
- Monitor employee attendance, performance and productivity in conjunction with Management and HR Dept.
- Document all employee performance issues in conjunction with Management and H R Dept.
- Other duties and responsibilities:
- Be fully informed of all company policies & procedures and set example by adhering to same
- Coordinate with administrative support staff in all operational duties including staff scheduling; staff scheduled days off; monitoring of overtime hours by individual employee
- Any and all other tasks that reasonably fall within this function as directed by management
- Must possess and maintain a valid, unexpired drivers license.
- Must possess and maintain a clean driving record.
