We are hiring compassionate, dependable, and energetic Behavior Therapists to support children, adolescents, and young adults with developmental disabilities, including individuals on the autism spectrum.This entry-level position provides hands-on experience in applied behavior analysis (ABA). No prior ABA experience is required. Aspire Living & Learning provides comprehensive on-the-job training, ongoing supervision, and support to help qualified employees pursue Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification.Experience in customer service, sales, education, healthcare, business, human services, marketing, communications, maintenance, government, or another field may be valuable in this role.About the Behavior Therapist RoleBehavior Therapists work under the supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) and/or special education teacher. You will implement individualized behavior support plans, education plans, and service agreements while helping clients develop communication, social, academic, motor, and daily living skills.Clients may demonstrate mild to severe behavioral challenges, including aggressive or self-injurious behavior. The role requires patience, emotional maturity, physical fitness, attention to detail, and the ability to remain calm in high-pressure situations.Behavior Therapists may work in:Aspire Living & Learning clinicsPublic and private school settingsClient homes, as assignedCommunity environmentsKey ResponsibilitiesImplement individualized behavior support plans using applied behavior analysis techniquesTeach communication, social, motor, play, cognitive, and self-care skillsSupport clients with daily living and personal care routinesReduce challenging behaviors through approved intervention strategiesCollect accurate data on behavior, progress, and skill developmentFollow written treatment plans, protocols, and safety proceduresUse prompting, discrete trial teaching, and naturalistic learning techniquesApply prevention, redirection, and physical intervention procedures when necessary and properly trainedMaintain focus and attention for extended periodsCollaborate with behavior analysts, special education teachers, families, and other team membersParticipate in team meetings, training sessions, and ongoing supervisionAdapt to daily schedule changes and changing client needsQualificationsBachelor's degree preferred; a combination of college coursework and relevant experience may be consideredPrevious experience in ABA, education, healthcare, human services, behavioral health, or direct support is helpful but not requiredValid driver's licenseReliable transportationProof of automobile insuranceVehicle capable of transporting clients in the back seatAbility to travel within approximately 45 minutes of Windsor, VermontAbility to pass a background checkStrong communication and interpersonal skillsPhysical fitness and coordinationAbility to demonstrate approved physical prevention and redirection techniquesWillingness to assist with personal care routines when necessaryAbility to manage multiple details and follow instructions accuratelyFlexibility to work Monday through Friday between 7:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m.Ability to respond professionally to day-to-day schedule changesCompensation and BenefitsHourly pay: $19.22–$25.43, based on education and experience working under a BCBABachelor's degree with no prior experience: $20.61 per hourGuaranteed year-round schedule of 37.5 hours per weekOpportunities to work up to 40 hours per week, including meetings and trainingEmployees at Aspire enjoy working with a collaborative and dedicated team that values a culture of belonging and care.
