Therapist - Director of Rehab

Job Description

Job Summary:
The Director of Rehab is a leadership role responsible for overseeing the clinical operations of the Occupational Therapy Department. The position includes supervising staff, ensuring compliance with regulations, and maintaining high standards of patient care. The director balances clinical treatment responsibilities with administrative duties to promote department effectiveness.

Responsibilities:

• Manage and supervise occupational therapy staff, including COTAs and rehabilitation technicians.
• Coordinate clinical education, training, and competency assessments for team members.
• Implement and update policies and procedures to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
• Oversee patient evaluations and treatments, contributing approximately 80% of clinical hours.
• Support program development and contribute to departmental growth initiatives.
• Complete administrative tasks related to documentation, discharge planning, and departmental compliance.

Qualifications:

• Hold a valid state license as an Occupational Therapist and comply with State Practice Act requirements.
• Demonstrate leadership experience within a healthcare setting, preferably in rehabilitation or occupational therapy.
• Possess excellent clinical skills with the ability to evaluate and treat patients effectively.
• Show strong organizational and administrative abilities to handle policy and staff management.
• Have excellent communication and team-building skills.
