Senior Structural Engineer - Substation

Senior Structural Engineer – Substation (Power Group) Locations: St. Louis, MO; Roanoke, VA; Charlotte, NC; Pittsburgh, PA; Phoenix, AZ; Chicago, IL; Marlton, NJ. What You Will Do Lead or support utility and power substation projects ranging from 34.5 kV to 500 kV. Develop substation structural steel and foundation drawings and calculations for new and existing substations. Prepare specifications for substation structural materials. Collaborate internally to pursue power substation projects regionally and nationally, increasing GFT presence. Develop and nurture client relationships, working across multiple disciplines. Participate actively in proposal bids, reports, and presentations. Education & Experience Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (minimum). Professional Engineer license or path to licensure. 8+ years progressive experience in design, engineering, and project management in the power and utility industry. Experience in the consulting engineering profession. Proficiency with project management software (Microsoft Project or similar). Design experience in high‑voltage substation and transmission projects. Experience creating quality technical solutions for major power delivery projects. Commitment to business performance, continuous improvement, and best practices. Preferred Qualifications Advanced degree strongly preferred. Experience with AutoCAD, MicroStation, or Inventor. Experience with structural engineering finite element software. Compensation The salary range for this role is $110,000 to $140,000, dependent on experience and geographic location.
