Montessori del Mundo is a public dual-language Montessori charter school located in Aurora, Colorado, serving students from preschool through sixth grade. As the first new charter school in Aurora since 2008, Montessori del Mundo is dedicated to fostering bilingualism and providing a high-quality Montessori education. The school emphasizes holistic development to support students academically, socially, and emotionally. Since its opening in Fall 2013, it has been committed to creating an inclusive and nurturing learning environment.
Role Description
This is a full-time on-site position for an Elementary School Counselor based in Aurora, CO. The Elementary School Counselor will work with students to support their academic, emotional, and social development. Responsibilities include providing individual and group counseling sessions, collaborating with teachers and staff to meet students’ needs, and addressing the unique requirements of students in special education. The role also involves engaging with families and coordinating community outreach initiatives to enhance student support systems.
Qualifications
- Proficiency in Student Counseling and individual or group Counseling techniques
- Native or native-like fluency in Spanish AND English, ability to provide instruction, communicate with parents, and participate in staff meetings in both languages
- Proficient in Google Workspace
- Knowledge and understanding of Special Education needs and services
- Skills in Community Outreach to build connections and strengthen support for students
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
- Master's degree in School Counseling, Psychology, or a related field
- Licensure or certification as a School Counselor (or eligibility to secure one in Colorado)
- Experience working in a diverse or multicultural educational setting is a plus
- Familiarity with Montessori education and dual-language programs is an advantage
