What sets us apart: A family-founded culture that prioritizes people and relationships A workplace grounded in safety, respect, and accountability Transparent leadership and clear expectations Investment in employee development and training A commitment to doing the right thing for our employees, customers and communities Key Responsibilities Operates a semi-truck according to applicable state and federal transportation laws Transports loads safely and in a timely manner over required routes, obeying all traffic laws, and observing all safety regulations Deftly maneuvers truck and trailer into loading and unloading areas following loading crew signals Assists with loading of or loads and unloads goods and materials using specialized equipment when warranted; unloads empty skids and returns all equipment to designated area Maintains signed invoices, shipping bills of lading, and other required paperwork; delivers documentation to shipping office or other appropriate staff when delivery route is complete Facilitates routine service on trucks, which may include checking oil, water, gasoline, and air; reports maintenance malfunctions to the Dispatcher and/or Garage Arranges trailers in warehouse yards for optimum loading patterns Performs other related duties as assigned Qualifications Required Must hold required commercial driver’s license appropriate for weight of vehicle to be operated A minimum of 2 year experience safely operating a Class A truck Must pass background and drug testing as required by federal and/or state department(s) of transportation regulations All other duties assigned Physical & Environmental Requirements Mostly outdoor position, subject to weather-Frequent Physical Demands Ability to repeatedly lift up to 100lbs Ability to work in changing weather conditions Ability to spend long periods of time on a forklift Rare ability for non-CDL driving Rio Grande Co. offers a competitive benefits package, including: Profit-sharing and 401(k) plan with company match Paid Sick, Vacation, Jury Duty, and Bereavement Multiple medical plan options Dental and vision insurance Health Savings Accounts (HSA) and Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA) Company-paid and voluntary life insurance Short-term and long-term disability coverage Accident and supplemental insurance Paid training and career development Employee Assistance Program (EAP) Other value-added employee benefits Additional compensation may include performance-based bonuses or incentives, depending on role-specific goals and company performance.
