Job Summary and Responsibilities As our Paramedic for Good Samaritan Hospital, you will provide advanced emergency medical care and transport critically ill or injured patients in pre‑hospital and inter‑facility settings. Every day you will rapidly assess scenes, evaluate conditions, and administer life‑saving interventions, while safely operating emergency vehicles and documenting care. To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate expert clinical skills, exceptional critical thinking under stress, and compassionate communication, ensuring optimal patient outcomes. Functions within the scope of practice of a Paramedic as defined within Nebraska state regulations and listed in the Approved Skills and Procedures for Licensed EMS Providers document Take on patient assignments, but must be overseen by an RN Provides patient care and performs patient care procedures including EKG, accu checks, CPR, crutches, ace bandage application, splint application, wound cleansing, dressing, and immobilization We are offering up to $5,000 sign‑on bonus to new hires who meet the eligibility requirements. Job Requirements High School Diploma or GED Active Paramedic license in the state of Nebraska Must have and maintain active membership on a Rescue Service in the state of Nebraska BLS (Basic Life Support) or BLS instructor certification through American Heart Association ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) or ACLS instructor certification through American Heart Association within 6 months of start date PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) or PALS instructor certification within 6 months of start date NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification within 6 months of hire Where You'll Work CHI Health Good Samaritan has provided paramedic‑level emergency ambulance service to the City of Kearney and Buffalo County Fire District #1 since 1988. Our paramedics also provide mutual aid response to area ambulance and rescue squads in order to bring the emergency department closer to the patient. Established by the Sisters of the St. Francis in 1924, CHI Health Good Samaritan is a 268‑bed regional referral center in Kearney, Neb. At CHI Health Good Samaritan, you’ll find an advanced level trauma center that also offers AirCare emergency helicopter transport and an ambulance program providing long distance and local 911 service.
