This swim teacher role offers a unique opportunity to grow in a supportive environment. No prior swimming experience is required but would be preferred, but experience working with children is essential. The position involves teaching lifesaving skills to children in a calm, focused backyard setting, with individual instruction tailored to each learner. The swim teacher reports directly to the program coordinator and has a clear long-term career path available with a potential upcoming business expansion on the horizon.
Responsibilities
- Provide individualized swim instruction to children
- Enforce pool safety rules and maintain a secure environment
- Assess children's swimming and lifesaving skill progress
- Manage behavior to maintain a calm learning atmosphere and facilitate socio-emotional growth and development
Preferred Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience in child care
- Knowledge of swimming safety and lifesaving skills
- Strong communication and patience when working with children
- Basic first aid skills
- Effective instructional abilities
- Attention to detail
