Data Engineer II

Data Engineer IIJoin our mission to transform pharmacy benefits and healthcare navigation as a Data Engineer II (Analytics Engineer). You will build and maintain reliable data models within Snowflake with dbt, and improve data quality and observability. Partner with analysts, data scientists, and software engineers to deliver trusted, well-documented datasets that power analytics and products.Position Responsibilities:Build, test, and document Snowflake data models and business logic in dbtApply and improve data quality, testing, observability, and lineage standardsCollaborate with cross-functional partners to define data contracts and interfacesContribute to Capital Rx's modular data platform and client-specific data configurationsParticipate in design reviews; propose scalable, maintainable patternsMonitor pipeline health, troubleshoot incidents, and drive root-cause fixesOptimize cost and performance of jobs, storage, and queries with guidanceWrite clear documentation and support knowledge sharingAdhere to the Capital Rx Code of Conduct, including reporting of noncompliancePreferred Qualifications:3+ years in data engineering, software engineering, or related fieldStrong SQL and Python; solid understanding of ETL/ELT and dimensional/data vault modelingHands-on dbt experience (models, tests, documentation, deployments)Experience with orchestration (Dagster or Airflow) and scheduling best practicesFamiliarity with Spark/Databricks and cloud data warehouses (Snowflake preferred)CI/CD for data (Git-based workflows, environments), and basic IaC familiarityData observability and testing (dbt tests, lineage tools)Understanding of security, governance, and privacy for PII/PHI (HIPAA awareness)Effective communication and collaboration with technical and non-technical stakeholdersBonus if you have Exposure to healthcare data (claims, eligibility, provider directories)Performance tuning in Snowflake (warehouse sizing, clustering, caching)New York, NY Salary Range: $108,800 - $136,000 USDDenver, CO Salary Range: $100,000 - $125,000 USDCharlotte, NC Salary Range: $92,000 - $113,500 USDAll employees are responsible for adherence to the Judi Health Code of Conduct including the reporting of non-compliance.
