Job Overview

We are seeking experienced Sit-Down Forklift Operators to join our team at a fast-paced glass manufacturing facility!

This position is ideal for dependable, safety-conscious individuals with previous sit-down forklift experience who are comfortable handling heavy, fragile materials in an industrial environment.

Candidates must have strong attention to detail, excellent safety awareness, and the ability to work in a physically demanding manufacturing setting.

Pay: From $20.00 per hour

Schedule & Hours

• 12-hour rotating shifts
• Alternating 36-hour and 48-hour workweeks
• Overtime may be required based on production needs
• Reliable attendance and punctuality are required

Key Responsibilities

• Safely operate a sit-down forklift to transport glass products, materials, and supplies throughout the facility.
• Load, unload, move, and stage glass products and production materials.
• Handle large, heavy, and fragile glass materials with care to prevent damage or breakage.
• Transport finished products to designated storage, staging, and shipping areas.
• Supply production lines with materials to maintain efficient operations.
• Perform daily forklift inspections and report equipment concerns or safety hazards.
• Properly secure and position loads to ensure safe transportation.
• Assist with inventory organization and material movement as needed.
• Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas.
• Follow all company safety policies, operating procedures, and production requirements.
• Assist with general production and warehouse duties when needed.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Previous sit-down forklift operating experience required.
• Experience working in a manufacturing, warehouse, or industrial environment preferred.
• Experience handling glass, oversized materials, or fragile products is a plus.
• Ability to safely maneuver forklifts in production areas and around employees and equipment.
• Strong understanding of forklift safety and proper material-handling procedures.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Basic math skills and ability to read a tape measure.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Willingness to assist with additional production duties as needed.
• Dependable attendance and ability to work 12-hour shifts.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand, walk, and operate a forklift throughout a 12-hour shift.
• Ability to lift and carry materials weighing up to 80 lbs. when required.
• Frequent bending, reaching, twisting, and climbing on and off equipment.
• Ability to move and handle materials weighing 2040 lbs. repetitively.
• Comfortable working in an active industrial manufacturing environment.
• Must wear required PPE, including safety shoes and safety glasses. Additional protective equipment may be required.
