Assistant Director of Water Utilities The City of Lake Worth Beach, Florida is seeking a highly qualified and experienced water resources professional to serve as Assistant Director of Water Utilities. The Assistant Director of Water Utilities serves as a senior level engineering and management professional, reporting directly to the Director of Water Utilities. The position assists in the administration, planning, design, construction, and operation of the City’s water, sewer, and stormwater systems. They provide advanced technical expertise, oversee complex capital improvement projects, support budget development, and ensure compliance with federal, state, and regulatory requirements. This position exercises substantial independent judgment and serves as acting authority for the Department in the Director’s absence. Qualifications and Experience Bachelor's Degree from an accredited educational institution in Water Resources, Business Administration, Civil Engineering, or a related field with emphasis in Public Administration. Ten years of progressively responsible experience in the management of a public or private sector public water or wastewater utility; and experience in issues affecting government with at least five (5) years in a supervisory role is required. An equivalent combination of education and/or job-related experience that meets the minimum qualifications may be substituted. Master’s degree may substitute for required experience. Active Florida Professional Engineer (P.E.) license is highly preferred. The hiring salary range for this position is $96,215 - $129,375 + DOE/Q.
