RN Surgery Circulator/Scrub

Job Summary:

The Registered Nurse (RN) Surgery provides skilled nursing care to patients during the intraoperative phase of the perioperative process. This role requires expertise in surgical nursing within a Level III trauma center environment, supporting a variety of surgical specialties including robotics-assisted procedures. The RN collaborates closely with the surgical team to ensure patient safety and optimal outcomes throughout surgery. A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience and current licensure are essential. Responsibilities:

• Provide nursing care during the intraoperative phase of surgery.
• Assist with preparation and management of the surgical environment and equipment.
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other team members to ensure patient safety.
• Monitor patient status and respond to changes during surgery.
• Maintain accurate documentation of intraoperative care and procedures.
• Follow established protocols for infection control and patient safety.
• Participate in call rotations including evenings, nights, and weekends as scheduled.

Required Skills & Certifications:

• Current Colorado RN License or Compact RN License in good standing.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in a related surgical nursing field.
• BLS (American Heart Association) certification.
• ACLS (American Heart Association) certification.
• Current flu vaccine required with no exemptions.

Preferred Skills & Certifications:

• Experience with robotics-assisted surgical systems (Exactech, Mako, Stealth, DaVinci).
• Familiarity with multiple surgical specialties including general, orthopedic, neuro, OB-GYN, ENT, and others.

Special Considerations:

• Work in a Level III trauma center environment with state-of-the-art surgical suites.
• Rotating evening, night, and weekend call shifts are required.
• Must submit RN verification, BLS and ACLS certifications, skills sheet, and proof of flu vaccine with application.
• Traveler housing options may be available during assignment.

Scheduling:

• Four 10-hour day shifts per week.
• Rotating call schedule including one call weekend (Friday 7:00 PM to Monday 7:00 AM) and 4-5 weeknight call shifts (7:00 PM to 7:00 AM) per 8-week period.
• Schedule subject to change but generally follows the described pattern.
