Heavy Duty Truck Technician

Job Description

We are seeking a Heavy Duty Truck Technician to support a mixed heavy-duty fleet in a fleet maintenance shop. Reporting to the Operations Manager and Shop Foreman, this role will service Class 7–8 trucks with a balanced focus on preventive maintenance, emergency repairs, inspections, and compliance.

Responsibilities

Perform diagnostics and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
Complete preventive maintenance and emergency repairs on Class 7–8 trucks.
Repair and service diesel engines, brake systems, air systems, transmissions, and hydraulic systems.
Perform electrical repairs and electronic diagnostics.
Conduct welding and fabrication as needed.
Coordinate parts requirements and support timely repairs.
Prepare inspection reports and maintain technical documentation.
Follow safety requirements and support inspection and regulatory compliance.

Required Qualifications

At least 1 year of experience in heavy-duty repair.
Knowledge of diesel engine repair, electronic diagnostics, brake systems, air systems, and hydraulic systems.
Welding and fabrication skills.
Strong troubleshooting abilities.
Ability to complete technical documentation.
Safety awareness and commitment to compliance.
Effective communication skills.
