This role translates financial and operational needs into actionable data solutions, supports data governance initiatives, and continuously improves reporting processes to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and scalability. This individual will lead complex analytics, mentors others, and drives improvements in financial data quality, scalability, and insight generation.Scope & ImpactLeads cross-functional or multi-domain initiativesImpacts multiple teams or Finance sub-domainsTrusted advisor to Finance leadership on data and reportingKey ResponsibilitiesLead design of complex financial data models and analyticsPartner with Finance, Product, and Technology stakeholders on transformation initiativesEstablish best practices for reporting, validation, and documentationMentor Analyst I and II team membersProactively identify data gaps, risks, and improvement opportunitiesRespond to ad hoc financial data and reporting requests, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and timely delivery.Evaluate, streamline, and optimize manual processes and legacy reporting to improve efficiency, data integrity, and scalability.Act as a liaison between finance, business operations, and technology teams to address evolving business challenges and enable effective data solutions.Autonomy & Decision-MakingOperates with high autonomyMakes recommendations that influence priorities and approachesAnticipates issues and resolves them proactivelyQualificationsRequiredBachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Mathematics, Data Science, or a related field.Experience working with financial data and systems in a data analyst, business analyst, or similar analytical role.Proficiency in data querying and analysis using SQL, Python, or comparable tools.Experience developing dashboards and reports using business intelligence and data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, Looker, or similar).Experience working with ERP systems and financial data structures.Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.Demonstrated problem-solving skills and attention to detail.PreferredExperience in planning and/or project management.Property & Casualty (P&C) insurance industry experience.Core CompetenciesFinancial and analytical acumenData modeling and reportingStakeholder partnership and communicationProcess improvement and automationData quality and governance awarenessLocation: Chicago, IL; this is a hybrid role with a 3-day in office requirementAnnual Salary: $86,100.00 - $133,250.00The above annual salary range is a general guideline. Multiple factors are taken into consideration to arrive at the final hourly rate/annual salary to be offered to the selected candidate.
