The Assistant Preschool Teacher plays a vital role in supporting early childhood education by assisting the lead teacher in creating a nurturing and educational classroom environment. This position involves working collaboratively within a team, engaging occasionally with parents, and utilizing an established curriculum to support lesson delivery and child development activities.
Responsibilities
- Support the lead teacher in classroom management and lesson execution
- Assist with child supervision and ensure a safe learning environment
- Prepare and set up activities aligned with the established curriculum
- Monitor and support positive behavior among children
- Communicate occasionally with parents regarding child progress and classroom activities under the guidance of the lead teacher
- Collaborate effectively with the teaching team to enhance classroom operations
- Maintain cleanliness and order during and after activities
- Ability to adapt to a fast-paced environment
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Knowledge of child development principles
- Classroom management skills
- Effective communication abilities
- Strong team collaboration skills
- Patience and creativity when working with young children
- Observation skills to monitor child behavior and development
- Behavior management techniques
Preferred Qualifications
- Entry-level experience in early childhood education
- CPR and First Aid certification
