Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced ICU RN for a high-acuity stepdown unit requiring critical care experience with ventilator-dependent patients and FL or compact licensure.

Details

• Work in the ICU/Respiratory Care Unit of a high-acuity stepdown unit
• Night shift, 3x12 hours, 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• Every other weekend (EOW) required
• Float as needed
• Holiday coverage required (2 of 3 major holidays, including holiday and eve)
• No block scheduling requests accepted
• Patient ratio is 3:1, with a maximum of 4:1 depending on staffing
• Travel pairs will not be considered
• Uses Epic EMR

Requirements

• Active FL or Compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration
• BLS and ACLS certification via AHA
• NIH Stroke Scale certification required in hand at time of consideration
• Minimum 3 years recent critical care experience with acute/chronically ill patients requiring ventilator support
• Trauma and Neuro experience required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Degree from an accredited nursing school, or a degree from an institution approved by FBON with 2 years of recent, consecutive acute care experience in a US hospital within the past 24 months
• Must pass a Basic Arrhythmia assessment
• Successful completion of a Florida AHCA Level 2 background screening, including fingerprint-based state and federal criminal history checks and abuse registry review

Additional Information

• Provide critical care nursing to high-acuity ICU and respiratory patients requiring ventilator support
• Charge RN, SICU, MICU, Trauma, and Stroke experience preferred
• Smoke-free facility
• Local candidates accepted within a 60-mile radius at a reduced rate
• Former permanent employees must be separated from the facility for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
• Candidates from Operation Nightingale Schools are not accepted
• Proof of vaccination status required with no declinations allowed
