Applicants can explore additional opportunities at Role Description The Assistant Property Manager is an on-site role located in San Marcos, CA, supporting the overall operation and resident experience of an affordable housing community. This position assists with day-to-day property management functions, including leasing, move-in and move-out processes, rent collection, and maintaining accurate resident and property records. The role helps ensure compliance with housing regulations and company policies, coordinates work orders and inspections with maintenance staff, and responds promptly and professionally to resident inquiries and concerns. The Assistant Property Manager collaborates closely with the Property Manager to support community programs, uphold safety and cleanliness standards, and contribute to resident retention and satisfaction. This is a full-time position with regular on-site interaction with residents, vendors, and team members. Qualifications Property management skills, including leasing, rent collection, resident relations, and coordination of maintenance and inspections. Administrative and organizational skills, such as recordkeeping, document management, scheduling, and attention to detail. Customer service and communication skills, including clear verbal and written communication, conflict resolution, and the ability to work with diverse populations. Basic financial and compliance skills, including handling payments, understanding budgets, and supporting adherence to housing program requirements. Proficiency with property management software and standard office applications (e.g., Microsoft Office, email, and digital filing systems). Ability to work on site in San Marcos, CA, with reliability, professionalism, and collaborative teamwork. Prior experience in property management, affordable housing, or a related field is preferred.
