Client Service Coordinator (CSC) The CSC drives the flow of clients and pets through the hospital, maximizes the productivity of the veterinary medical team, ensures good communication with associates and clients, and coordinates the care of clients and pets in a happy, welcoming, friendly and efficient manner. The CSC also actively recruits new clients by promoting hospital services, routes the flow of clients and pets to ensure superior client care, and maximizes the number of pets seen by a productive and efficiently run hospital to support the needs of our wellness plan clients. Key Responsibilities Provide professional, efficient and exceptional service at all times by welcoming clients and pets, ensuring comfort, and educating them about pet health. Educate clients about Optimum Wellness Plans, preventive care, pet health needs and hospital services. Assist incoming clients by completing required documentation, entering pet information and history, and using proper identification. Assist outgoing clients with instructions, invoices, dispensing prescriptions, selling retail products and scheduling future appointments. Manage finances by maintaining accurate balances and following opening and closing procedures. Conduct administrative functions as necessary. Client service skills – consistently provides attentive, courteous, and informative service. Intellectual ability – accurately follows instructions delivered in oral, written or diagram format. Mathematical ability – performs basic calculations and unit conversions. Computer skills – confidently uses Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, and specialized software. Attitudes (Will Do) Initiative – uses discretion to find solutions and presents options to enhance processes. Integrity – adheres to Banfield values and exhibits honesty, discretion, and sound judgment. Cooperativeness – collaborates, compromises, and shares relevant information promptly. Tolerance for Stress / Resiliency – maintains a positive outlook, rebounds quickly, and keeps composure in stressful situations. Special Working Conditions Work at a computer for long periods. Confidence around pets (dogs, cats, birds, reptiles). Work may exceed 40 hours per week, including weekends and evenings. Capacity to lift, carry, and move up to 50 pounds. Good hand‑eye coordination, arm‑hand‑finger dexterity, and visual acuity for keyboard use. Exposure to pets that may bite or scratch, anesthesia, radiation, biological hazards, and controlled substances. Experience / Education / Training High School Diploma or equivalent (preferred). Must be at least 18 years old to perform duties involving radiography and exposure to radioactive substances. One year related experience required; customer service experience preferred. Medical background (veterinary technician, human healthcare, pharmaceutical, etc.) with medical terminology training is preferred. Pay Range Hourly – rate determined by candidate experience, skill level, and education; may vary by location or applicable minimum wage laws.
