Busy truck/equipment repair shop in Middletown, CT is looking for a motivated heavy wrecker operator to help get our towing leg of the business off the ground. Applicant would be responsible for operating the heavy wreckers and rollbacks to complete tows as needed and the ideal applicant would also be willing to help grow the towing side of the business, get accounts, hire/supervise other drivers as needed down the road, etc. Someone that would be willing to do some road calls and help out in the shop doing repair work would be a huge plus. This would be a great opportunity for someone that is motivated and has knowledge of the towing industry. There would be plenty of bonuses and incentives involved for someone who helps things grow!

We are seeking a skilled and reliable Equipment Operator to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong mechanical knowledge and experience in operating various types of equipment, including forklifts and tow trucks. This role is crucial for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our equipment while providing excellent customer service.

Duties

• Operate and manage equipment such as forklifts, flatbeds, and tow trucks in a safe and efficient manner.

• Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on equipment to ensure optimal performance.

• Load and unload materials or products from vehicles, ensuring proper handling to prevent damage.

• Provide exceptional customer service by addressing client needs and resolving any conflicts that may arise during operations.

• Maintain accurate records of equipment usage, maintenance, and any incidents that occur during operation.

• Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth operations and adherence to safety protocols.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in automotive repair or mechanical knowledge is preferred.

• Strong customer service skills with the ability to manage conflicts effectively.

• Experience operating forklifts and tow trucks is highly desirable.

• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

• Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.

• A valid Class A driver's license is required.
