MRI Technical AssistantThe MRI Technical Assistant performs a variety of routine duties including clerical, patient care, and/or technical functions to assist in the operation of the department. The position assists in performing imaging examinations and procedures in multiple settings, contributing to the efficient operation of the department. The position functions as the first line interface with customers in the successful accomplishment of their imaging needs.ResponsibilitiesWhat you will doResponsible for assisting members of the patient care team and providing a broad range of services such as patient transport/transfer, patient check-in, exam review, preparation for visit, and patient education.Assists in care and maintenance of diagnostic radiology equipment, and supplies.Assists the technologist with setting up and adjusting diagnostic radiology equipment per radiologist protocol for exam.Receives and reviews requests for radiologic studies.Accepts patients and assesses their condition to determine proper handling and special requirements.Explains and prepares the patient for all radiographic and fluoroscopic procedures.Performs all responsibilities / duties required by the technologist to perform MRI examinations.Maintains inventory and adheres to safety regulations.Performs various clerical duties.Must be available for on call status, as needed, after normal operating hours.QualificationsMinimum EducationHigh School Diploma or Equivalent RequiredMinimum Work Experience1 year Experience in healthcare or customer service PreferredLicenses and CertificationsBLS for Healthcare Providers (BLS) American Heart Association within 90 Days RequiredRequired Skills, Knowledge and AbilitiesInterpersonal skills.Must be able to multitask daily.Possesses knowledge of EMR, PACs and Imaging applications, telephone etiquette and customer service.Computer skills.Knowledge of medical terminology.About UsBaptist Health Care is a not-for-profit health care system committed to improving the quality of life for people and communities in northwest Florida and south Alabama.
