- Collaborate with Controls Engineers to review machine and equipment functions for new projects and installations
- Review electrical schematics and assist with installation and startup of control systems
- Install, calibrate, test, and troubleshoot electrical instrumentation, electronic controls, and related equipment
- Diagnose wiring and electrical issues using diagnostic tools such as multimeters
- Perform I/O checkouts and testing on newly installed equipment
- Troubleshoot software, hardware, and network-related control system issues
- Install and maintain Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) and associated communication software
- Maintain and troubleshoot Siemens PLCs, I/O hardware, and drive systems including Siemens S120 and G120C drives
- Develop or modify documentation related to testing, startup, and commissioning processes
- Work with engineering and assembly teams to improve system performance and operational efficiency
- Direct activities of outside contractors working on assigned equipment
- Document project hours and technical work accurately
- Provide occasional after-hours technical support as needed
- Support continuous improvement initiatives such as Lean manufacturing, Kaizen events, and 5S practices
- Maintain safe operations by following all company safety procedures and regulations
- Associate's degree (AA/AS) in Mechanical, Electrical, or related technical field
- Minimum of two years of related experience and/or technical training
- Equivalent combination of education and experience
- Basic computer knowledge and technical troubleshooting skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Written and verbal communication skills
- Problem-solving and analytical abilities
- Knowledge, Experience & Capabilities:
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and P&ID diagrams
- Ability to define problems, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
- Experience troubleshooting electrical, mechanical, and control systems
- Ability to design and perform testing procedures for complex equipment
Working Environment The hours for this role are Monday-Friday, day shift, with occasional after-hours support as needed according to business requirements. The employee will regularly work in a manufacturing plant environment. The job may require working near moving mechanical parts and exposure to fumes, airborne particles, or industrial chemicals. The noise level in the production facility is typically moderate. Employees may be required to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally and perform physical activities such as standing, walking, reaching, bending, and working with tools and equipment. Appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) will be provided and must be used when required.
