Job Duration: 13 Weeks



Shift: Must be available to work any/all shifts (Days, Evenings, and Nights)



Hours: 32 hours guaranteed



Setting: Hospital / Skilled Nursing Care / Long-Term Care

Pay: W2: $1920/week for 32 hours
Pay Breakdown: W2 Taxable: $800/Week ($25/hr) + $1,120 Weekly Stipend

Position Summary:

Samuel Mahelona Memorial Hospital, part of the HHSC Kauai Region, is seeking an experienced Certified Nursing Assistant for a 13-week contract assignment in Kapaa, Hawaii. The position involves providing direct patient care and nursing support in a hospital or long-term care setting.

The selected candidate will assist patients with activities of daily living, support nursing staff, monitor and report changes in patient conditions, and help maintain a safe and comfortable environment. Candidates must be flexible and willing to work any shift as assigned.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist patients with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and feeding.
• Monitor and report changes in patients' physical conditions to the nursing staff.
• Measure and document vital signs as assigned and within the scope of practice.
• Assist with patient mobility, positioning, transfers, and ambulation.
• Maintain patient comfort, dignity, privacy, and safety.
• Follow infection prevention protocols and facility safety procedures.
• Assist nursing staff with routine patient care and other nursing support tasks.
• Maintain accurate documentation according to facility policies.
• Support patients in skilled nursing, intermediate care, medical, surgical, and other assigned units.
• Follow established clinical procedures and instructions from licensed nursing personnel.
• Work collaboratively with the healthcare team to ensure quality patient care.
• Maintain flexibility to work rotating shifts and provide coverage as required.

Required Qualifications:

• Minimum of 2 years of CNA experience .
• Current and active CNA certification/license as required by the facility and state.
• Ability and willingness to work any/all shifts , including days, evenings, and nights.
• Experience in a hospital, skilled nursing facility, or long-term care setting preferred.
• Strong communication, teamwork, and patient care skills.
• Ability to assist patients safely with mobility and activities of daily living.
• Commitment to patient safety, infection control, and facility policies.
• Availability to complete the 13-week contract assignment.
