Key Responsibilities

Technical Leadership and Architecture

  • Lead end-to-end Salesforce solution design across Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Experience Cloud, and custom platform applications, ensuring scalability, security, and governance.
  • Define and enforce coding standards, design patterns, and DevOps best practices (CI/CD via Salesforce DX, Git, and pipeline tooling).
  • Conduct architecture reviews, code reviews, and technical grooming sessions to maintain platform health and delivery quality.
  • Partner with the Salesforce Architect on platform strategy, org health, and long-term roadmap alignment.

Integration Engineering

  • Design and implement MuleSoft-based integrations connecting Salesforce to enterprise systems, including enterprise content management platforms, SAP, and legacy systems.
  • Build and maintain REST/SOAP APIs, Platform Events, Change Data Capture (CDC), and middleware orchestration patterns for real-time and batch integration scenarios.
  • Lead integration solutioning for complex, multi-system workflows involving case management, document handling, and regulated utility operations.
  • Collaborate with MuleSoft Architects to define integration contracts, error handling frameworks, and retry/resilience patterns.

Data Engineering

  • Own and drive Salesforce data architecture, including data modeling, object relationships, and schema governance across multi-org environments.
  • Lead data migration efforts from legacy platforms (e.g., Microsoft Dynamics) to Salesforce, including transformation logic, data validation, reconciliation, and cutover planning.
  • Work with enterprise data platform and Data Cloud teams to design scalable data pipelines, harmonize data structures, and ensure data integrity across systems.
  • Define and implement data quality rules, deduplication strategies, and audit-ready data lineage aligned with compliance and regulatory requirements.

Generative AI and Agentic AI Delivery

  • Leverage agentic AI platforms (Windsurf, Devin, or equivalent) daily for accelerated story creation, code generation, test automation, and design documentation.
  • Apply prompt engineering best practices - iterative prompting, session scoping, peer review gates - to ensure AI output quality and story completeness.
  • Integrate Salesforce Einstein AI, Agentforce, and GenAI-enabled flows into case management, portal, and automation workflows.
  • Champion AI-augmented SDLC practices within the team, mentoring developers on responsible AI usage, code smell detection, and token management.
  • Contribute to measurable AI efficiency benchmarks, including development velocity gains, BA/QA effort reduction, and sprint throughput improvements.

Governance, Security, and Compliance

  • Enforce Salesforce platform governance, including user access management, permission sets, profiles, and inactive account monitoring.
  • Ensure solutions adhere to NERC and utility-sector compliance standards and audit-ready documentation requirements.
  • Support security reviews, vulnerability assessments, and AppExchange product governance.

Collaboration and Delivery

  • Work closely with the Business Analyst/Product Owner to refine epics, user stories, and acceptance criteria, leveraging AI tooling to accelerate story creation.
  • Lead and mentor a team of Salesforce developers (onshore and offshore), providing day-to-day technical direction and unblocking delivery impediments.
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies - sprint planning, backlog grooming, retrospectives - as a key technical voice.
  • Coordinate with QA leads to define test strategies, support SIT/UAT, and drive defect resolution below the 5% threshold.

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of hands-on Salesforce development experience with demonstrated technical leadership.
  • Deep expertise in Apex, LWC, Flows, SOQL/SOSL, and Salesforce platform internals.
  • Strong experience with MuleSoft or equivalent integration platforms (REST APIs, event-driven architecture, middleware patterns).
  • Proven track record in data migration projects - ETL design, transformation logic, reconciliation, and cutover execution.
  • Hands-on experience with Salesforce DX, Git, CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps tooling.
  • Active daily use of generative AI and/or agentic AI tools in a software delivery context.
  • Experience with Experience Cloud / community portals, Service Cloud case management, and workflow automation.
  • Salesforce certifications: Platform Developer II (required); Integration Architecture Designer or Data Architecture Designer (strongly preferred).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in regulated utility, energy, or infrastructure sectors with awareness of compliance and audit requirements.
  • Familiarity with Salesforce Data Cloud, Einstein Analytics, or Agentforce.
  • Hands-on experience with Windsurf, Devin, or similar agentic AI coding platforms.
  • Knowledge of enterprise content management systems.
  • Background in multi-vendor offshore/nearshore delivery models.
  • MuleSoft Certified Developer or Integration Associate certification.
