Sushi Chef
Join our team at Hayama by WATAMI, a Japanese restaurant in Culver City offering authentic Japanese cuisine and sushi in a contemporary setting. We are looking for a skilled Sushi Chef who is passionate about creating delicious and visually appealing dishes. If you have a love for Japanese cuisine and want to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, this is the perfect opportunity for you.
Daily Responsibilities:
- Ensuring high standards of food quality and plate presentation
- Utilizing knife skills to prepare sushi ingredients
- Managing portion control and food cost
Required Skills:
- Experience in Japanese cuisine and sushi preparation
- Proficiency in wok, broiling, sautéing, and fryer techniques
- Knowledge of pastry making, soup making, and sauce making
- Ability to handle salads, grilling, and prep work efficiently
- Strong understanding of food cost management and portion control
Nice to Have Skills:
- Experience in Japanese cuisine
