This is an opportunity to grow your technical expertise, mentor fellow engineers, and shape the systems that power Amazon's customer experience.Key job responsibilities- Design and implement software solutions that enable new features and improve existing systems, balancing functional and non-functional requirements such as scalability, performance, and security.- Deliver high-quality code across the full development lifecycle—from scoping and design through testing, deployment, and ongoing operations—while identifying and resolving root causes of operational issues.- Collaborate with cross-functional partners including product managers, stakeholders, and peer engineers to understand business and customer needs, ensuring your solutions deliver meaningful value.- Mentor and coach team members through code reviews and knowledge sharing, producing clear documentation so that your software can be maintained and extended by others.- Evaluate new tools, frameworks, and approaches—including generative AI capabilities—to recommend and adopt improvements that increase your team's productivity and code quality.A day in the lifeYou might start by reviewing a design document for an upcoming feature, then move into a focused coding session where you implement and test a key component. After lunch, you join a code review, offering constructive feedback to a teammate while picking up ideas for your own work. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
