Job Title

Registered Nurse – Emergency Observation Unit (Level 3)

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Rotating Shifts including Days, Evenings, Nights, On Call, Call Back, Charge, Holidays, and Weekends as needed

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to adult patients in a fast-paced observation unit that manages 20–27 patient turnovers per day
• Monitor and assess patients to determine appropriateness for hospital admission or safe discharge
• Care for a diverse adult population including emergency observation and admitted boarding patients ranging from short-stay to full admissions
• Collaborate with 24/7 provider coverage team to support timely and effective patient care decisions
• Perform telemetry monitoring and respond to changes in patient condition

Required Qualifications

• Active New York State Registered Nurse (RN) license – NY license required
• Minimum two years of Medical/Surgical nursing experience
• Telemetry experience required
• BLS certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) required
• ACLS certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) required

Preferred Experience / Skills

• NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale) certification preferred
• Prior experience in an observation, emergency, or high-acuity unit setting
