Location: Machias, ME Pay Rate: $17.89 per hour Openings: 2 Positions

Position Summary: The Cook I is responsible for accurately and efficiently preparing, portioning, cooking, and presenting a variety of hot and cold food items for multiple meal periods, including breakfast, lunch, dinner, and special catered events. This position works across multiple food service stations as operational needs require, including pizza, grill, and entre stations, while maintaining high standards of food quality, safety, and customer service.

Available Schedules:

• Position 1: Sunday through Thursday 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM
• Position 2: Tuesday through Saturday 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Prepare, cook, and serve food items according to recipes, production standards, and food safety guidelines.
• Accurately portion and present hot and cold food items.
• Support meal service for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and catered/special events.
• Operate a variety of food service stations as assigned, including:
  • Pizza Station
  • Grill Station
  • Entre Station
• Maintain food quality, appearance, and consistency throughout service periods.
• Follow all sanitation, safety, and HACCP procedures.
• Clean and sanitize work areas, equipment, and utensils.
• Assist with stocking, receiving, and organizing food and supplies.
• Work collaboratively with team members to ensure efficient kitchen operations.
• Provide excellent customer service in a fast-paced food service environment.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Previous cooking or food service experience preferred.
• Ability to prepare food in a fast-paced environment while maintaining quality standards.
• Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.
• Ability to follow recipes and production guidelines.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 40 pounds.
• Reliable attendance and punctuality required.
