Job Description
Oncology Registered Nurse (RN)

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Oncology Registered Nurse to join our dynamic healthcare team. This role entails providing specialized nursing care on a 28-bed acute care Medical/Surgical Oncology inpatient unit. The ideal candidate will possess a solid foundation in oncology and surgical nursing, with a commitment to delivering exceptional patient care throughout their treatment journey.

Schedule and Shift

  • Shift: Nights, 3x12 hour shifts (19:00 - 07:30)
  • Weekend Requirements: As needed
  • Floating: Required within the hospital; no floating to sister locations
  • Block Scheduling: Not accommodated
Responsibilities

As an Oncology RN, you will be responsible for:
  • Delivering skilled nursing care for patients undergoing surgery, chemotherapy, and biological therapies.
  • Providing care that includes aggressive curative therapy, symptom management, ostomy care, and palliative care.
  • Collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
  • Monitoring patients' conditions and reacting promptly to any changes in their health status.
  • Assisting with patient education regarding treatment plans and self-care strategies.
Qualifications

To be considered for this position, candidates must meet the following requirements:
  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years in oncology and surgical nursing.
  • Certifications: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
  • RTO Restrictions: Up to 1 week maximum.
  • Licensure: Active RN license is required; pending licenses will not be accepted.
