Raytheon Vision Systems (RVS) Systems Integration and Test Department is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer with experience in airborne and space electro-optical and infrared (EO/IR) surveillance and targeting sensor systems. The Systems Engineer plans and manages the multidisciplinary/cross-functional engineering activities and associated budgets, guides engineering follow-through of work products and support, supports proposal and change management activities for engineering and supports the bid manager for proposals within engineering.The Systems Engineering, Integration, and Test Department is responsible for all Electro-Optic Imaging Systems Definition, Architecture, Integration, product Verification & Validation along with program and project technical implementation to cost and schedule. This is an Onsite position located in Goleta, California.What You Will DoWork with the Program Chief Engineer (PCE), Lead Systems Engineer (LSE), and Integrated Program Team Lead (IPTL) to ensure products meet cost, schedule, technical quality, and performance requirementsProvide systems engineering leadership for RVS EO/IR, focal plane array (FPA) programs, including tasking such as requirements management, authoring performance specifications, defining verification plans, performing data analysis, etc.Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams across Systems, Test, Software, Firmware, Mechanical, Electrical, and Integrated Circuit engineeringManage engineering risks and opportunities with the IPTL, LSE, and PCE to support proactive program executionCoordinate engineering inputs for proposals and present bid summaries to managementGuide technical support efforts for production and development activitiesLead and present trade studies and technical analyses to stakeholdersCommunicate technical findings and recommendations to leadership and customersLead teams in resolving hardware, software, and system issues through detailed data analysis and debuggingOversee development and maintenance of requirements, concepts of operations, and system interfacesPrepare documentation for formal reviews including SRR, PDR, CDR, TRR, CTSR, and test data packagesDevelop product specifications and manage requirements, including derivation of lower‑level subassembly and component requirementsQualifications You Must HaveTypically requires a Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience or an advanced degree in a related field and minimum 3 years' experience with airborne and space electro-optical and infrared (EO/IR) surveillance and targeting sensor systemsSystem experience with hands on experience in the design, analysis, development, troubleshooting, and testingQualifications We PreferFactory production and direct experience with IR FPA design and testing for tactical and/or space environmentsSystem experience with EO/IR subsystems, IR FPA technology, semiconductor fabrication processes, photonics, optics manufacturing, or related industry experience airborne and space electro-optical and infrared (EO/IR) surveillance and targeting sensor systemsVacuum packaging, dewar design, cryogenic cooling, and/or opto-mechanicsRequirements Organization via DOORsExperience creating analytical models and scripting for data analysis (MATLAB preferred)Plan, lead, and execute root-cause and corrective-action (RCCA) effortsROIC wafer probing, fabrication, integration, verification, and validation for a complex EO/IR systemEarned Value Management, EVMS CertificationWhat We Offer:Our values drive our actions, behaviors, and performance with a vision for a safer, more connected world. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
