Project Manager - Laredo, Texas Base: Laredo, Texas Service Area: Southwest Texas (Laredo to Del Rio) Landhawk Consulting LLC is seeking a Project Manager to join our growing environmental and cultural resources team in Laredo, Texas. Established in 2012, Landhawk is a multidisciplinary environmental consulting firm with 25 professionals, providing expertise in natural resources, cultural resources, and water resource management. Our team includes wildlife biologists, archaeologists, environmental scientists, aquatic ecologists, and permitting specialists who support infrastructure and compliance projects across Texas and the greater Southwest. Position Details and Expectations Interested candidates should submit a detailed resume or CV, along with unofficial transcripts, outlining relevant experience in field and project management, including biological survey work, construction monitoring, and resource documentation. Candidates should have experience leading and managing teams. Preference for candidates who have conducted fieldwork, such as plant species surveys, nesting bird surveys, and biological resource monitoring, in support of environmental compliance. Responsibilities Lead, manage, and provide oversight on projects, ensuring adherence to timelines, deliverables, and budgets. Maintain consistent day‑to‑day engagement with project teams to proactively monitor progress, identify potential issues, and ensure alignment with project goals. Take initiative in tracking and communicating daily activities with supervisors and project leads, while regularly checking in with staff to ensure tasks are clearly defined and progressing efficiently. Provide quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC) on all project documentation to maintain a high standard of work. Prepare technical reports, permit applications, and regulatory documentation to support environmental approvals and compliance. Provide technical support and regulatory guidance in the areas of environmental compliance, permitting, and wildlife conservation. Coordinate and lead biological/archaeological field teams, ensuring timely, professional, and technically sound deliverables. Mentor and guide junior staff, promoting growth, accountability, and collaboration. Occasionally travel to project sites or attend client meetings as needed. Support business development efforts through client relationship management, conference participation, marketing initiatives, and proposal development. Maintain clear and effective communication with clients, internal team members, and regulatory agencies throughout the project lifecycle. Qualifications Proven leadership skills and strong communication abilities, grounded in integrity and emotional intelligence. Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Biology, Wildlife Management, Environmental Science, or a related field. Minimum of 3 years of directly relevant experience in environmental consulting, regulatory compliance, NEPA documentation, and/or environmental permitting. Highly self‑motivated with the ability to work independently, take initiative, and manage responsibilities with minimal oversight. Compensation and Benefits Landhawk Consulting offers competitive compensation tailored to each candidate’s experience, qualifications, and technical expertise. Position will be full‑time and salaried. $65,000 to $85,000 salary, depending on experience. 15 days paid vacation, up to 40 hours of annual sick leave, and 11 paid holidays are provided to salaried employees. 401(k) retirement plan with employer match.
